OK Go frontman, Damian Kulash has told MTV News that the band are ‘flattered’ to be on the New Moon Soundtrack. The band feature on the album with their song, ‘Shooting The Moon’.

“It’s a really amazing set of bands. It’s a huge deal. We grew up listening to the ‘Pretty in Pink’ soundtrack, and I sort of feel like this ‘New Moon’ soundtrack is like ‘Pretty in Pink’ for the new generation — foxy female lead, the kind of loser guy who becomes a sexpot and of course the 1,000-year-old witch/vampire type.”

Lykke Li Talks About New Moon Soundtrack

Posted by webmaster on October 13th, 2009

Lykke Li recently spoke to MTV News about her song, ‘Possibility’ on the New Moon Soundtrack. In the interview she reveals the context of the song is about love, death and Robert Pattinson, and she also tells MTV that she didn’t have a hook for ‘Possibility’ until she saw New Moon.

“I stayed [in Los Angeles] and watched the movie, when it only had green screen on it. I had this hook in my mind, even before I saw the movie, and then I was watching it, and I was like, ‘That’s the hook!’ ” she said. “So it was very much like a discovery, inside myself and musically. I had this song growing inside of me that I had to get out, and [the film] was the trigger. Because I really connected with Bella and Edward’s tortured love story.”
